HUNDRED and twenty two police were promoted to various posts in North West province. The event was held at TTA Hall in Mahikeng on Friday. MEC for community safety and transport management and Provincial police commissioner, Dr Mpho Motlhabane and Lieutenant Gen Baile Motswenyane were part of the proceeding.
Motlhabane said: “I would like to thank each and every member for the hard work especially after having peaceful elections. The police kept stability in the province.
“Hard work pays dividends and also good things come to those who wait. Resources are a challenge, but as we will ensure that quality service is delivered. Once resources are received, we expect each person to be accountable and take care of your working tool. Let us use the little of what we have wisely.”
Motlhabane further said that crime is still a concern in the province. However, he vowed to continue to combat it.
“Working together with the community will help bring the wrong doers to book. Let us not keep a blind eye to illegal acts. As part of the Setsokotsane programme, the department and the police will continue with operations that fight crime. We are going to be visible in all corners at all times,” Motlhabane said.
He also encouraged the police to work together. Motlhabane said they will also apply five pillars of government to deal with crime and to maximise performance in the province.
“Have good relationship with the communities and serve them with pride. Make sure you leave a mark and engrave your names in their hearts,” he said.
