Four Zimbabweans nabbed for theft

FOUR Zimbabweans were arrested for allegedly being in possession of suspected stolen goods in Bloemhof on N12. North West police spokesperson, Col Sabata Mokgwabone said the suspects aged between 19 and 37 were arrested on Friday.

“The suspects were nabbed after a tip-off from the community about a suspicious vehicle travelling along the R34 road towards Bloemhof. The police stopped the mentioned vehicle mounted with Gauteng province registration number along the N12 national road.

“The police found five occupants in the vehicle. Twelve satellite batteries and a car battery were found inside the vehicle after the search. One suspect fled from the scene and other four were arrested after failing to account for the properties,” Mokgwabone said.

He said preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspects allegedly stole the items in Hoopstad in the Free State Province. He added that the suspects will appear in the Bloemhof Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
